Satori is a queer speculative writer from Lawrence, KS and Key West, FL. They are an MFA fiction candidate and graduate teaching assistant at George Mason University, and hold a BA in English & Creative Writing with a minor in Ancient Civilizations from the University of Iowa. Their poetry, prose, and photography appear in Waffle Fried, M E N A C E, Does it Have Pockets, and elsewhere. Their fiction has received financial support from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown and the Community of Writers in Olympic Valley. They are a Pushcart nominee & winner of Fugue's 2025 prose contest. Outside of creative work, they are Editor in Chief of So to Speak, an intersectional feminist literary journal, as well as a ghost writer for true crime channel Darklivity. Satori enjoys reading, hiking, painting, spending time with their partner, and cuddling their cats Sam & Frodo.
